Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Pelvic Health Physiotherapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy that involves an external and internal examination of the pelvic floor muscles, sitting between the hip bones and the tail bone.
You may benefit from pelvic floor physiotherapy if you have any form of pelvic floor dysfunction, including but not limited to urinary incontinence, prolapse or pain.
A pelvic therapist will be able to perform an assessment to determine the underlying causes and form an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Bloom Therapy has certified pelvic therapists that offer a one on one approach. We strive to make your experience as comfortable as possible with private treatment rooms and a comfortable setting.
Physiotherapy services are NOT covered by Alberta Health Care or Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB)
+ Is Pelvic Floor Phyiotherapy in a private room?
Yes! This treatment will be held in a priavate treatment room. You will be able to speak openly and honestly about your pain points in a judgement free space. We strive to make the space as comfortable as possible.
+ Do I need to get an internal exam?
To get the most out of your treatment and internal exam is recommended, however it is not necessary. We are more than happy to have you come in for a conversation to see how we can help prior to doing an internal exam.
+ Is Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy only for women?
No. Men can benefit from a pelvic floor physio treatment as much as women. Some common issues that we can work with are painful urination, inability to fully empty the bladder, constipation, and post prostate surgery issues.
